General Information: Found these in the backyard. Never heard of them til the hubby came in and told me to google them. Then we discovered we had Morels in the backyard. Don't know a whole lot about them. Did a lot of research, washed them real good, put them on a cookie sheet and put them in the freezer to freeze them. Hope that works, I'm not a big mushroom eater. I've been looking for a new hobby, maybe mushroom hunting will be it.

Morels Found: 20
False Morels: 1 old one
Other Mushrooms: Little ones that I can't Id
General Information: Went to a spot that I should up a few days late to last year and found them today... I have been there at least once a week and say a bunch of false morels 10 days ago or so, they were everywhere! There were 100's of morels here last year and about 40 of them are up where I can see them right now. I left the smaller ones and am sure there are a ton more that I just can't see yet. I did find one in the grass as I was getting closer to this spot that is just barely past prime, about 5 inches tall with stem and many 4 inches in diameter so it has been there a while and was still in good enough shape for me to take home and eat. I already gave some away but here are the ones I kept (I will try to post pic now anyways but I have not done this before.. All on valley floor near cottonwoods. Cottons are not blooming yet but I believe this was just a small early fruiting and am hopeful that a ton more will show up in this spot. Luckily I think I am the only ones that knows these are there and I intend to keep it that way by making sure I pick any of them where someone could possible notice them :) go get em! They are here starting now in the willamette valley
