Name: Chris Baranski
General Location: Granville County
International/State: North Carolina
Morels Found: small angusticeps
General Information: First check of the year, 4/1/13. Still seemed a bit early based on the developing canopy (not the calendar), but other vegetative indicators were getting close. A quick look in a known early spot yielded a few young blacks. Didn't stomp around too much, as they were tough to see, but I'll go back later in the week when their stems have elongated. Surely I'll find more that hadn't yet emerged from the leaves. Hoping for a great season...
