General Information: Spring time amanita or amanita velosa is indeed very delicious, I have eaten alot of these lately. They are usually very distinct in color , orange-ish. It also lacks an annulus , which is very distinct in the ocreata ( destroying angel )and older specimens have a very fishy smell . Also, note the striations on the edge, usually lacking in the destroying angel.

General Information: This is the second batch I've found. The first batch I didn't try any. The second batch I would really like to try some. All my books tell me that it is very close to the destroying angel. That's really got my attention. Help? My books also told me that this is a very delicious mushroom. How many of you out there have tried this mushroom?
Chris' Comments: Personally, I would be in fear to try them unless a local person that has had experience can verify.
