False Morels: Quite a few
Other Mushrooms: Some real petty little read things growing on fallen logs.
General Information: What a crazy day it was. In one area I found all these different colored morels. This season is way to early and I think the morels are a little confused. I usually don't even start hunting until now and I think we are already at the tail end of it all. People have been posting finds in all the Michigan sites for about a month now. Chris, I'm not sure what will be around in May when you come up for the Boyne City festival. The woods is growing up really fast and the morels are already hard to find. The whites that I found were between 3 and 5 inches tall, the next and last morels are usually the Big Foots and I think I found a baby one of those. If we could get some rain I think the big whites will be out and then I think it will be over... or will it?
