Other Mushrooms: Pleurotus Eryngii ??
General Information: Chris, this is a mystery. I could swear these are King Oysters, but they don't grow in the northwest from anything I can find or read. We found them growing in the middle of an old firepit when up in the mountains looking for Matsutake. Did the spores fall from someone's grilled kings and now are growing wild? What do you think?
Chris' Comments: They do look like them, but just certain they're not, they grow from dead wood

General Information: Found on base of an ash. Look like others on this site called hens. All hens I ever find are one big mass like a brain. These are orange on top, yellowish on bottom. These are just a couple layers I pulled off the tree. These break apart easily where my previous finds bust apart in chunks and you can peel them like string cheese.
Chris' Comments: Chicken Of The Woods, delicious
