Morels Found: Yes?
General Information: We found them in a park nearby. We have been eating morels for years but couldn't believe that we would ever randomly find them. New landscaping was put in recently and we think the spores might have been in the mulch. We definitely wanted to check with an expert before trying to eat them!
Chris' Comments: Yes, they are Landscape Morels, pretty rare this time of year! Enjoy!

General Information: These photos are from November 13th. I can't find this one in either of my field guides and didn't collect the one sample I found because I just assumed it would be easy to I.D. from the photos, being so large and unusual looking. The stipe had as outer skin that was a bit squishy like a gomphidious and the top of the cap had a fair amount of slime on it (maybe a bit less than a slippery jack), but it has been raining during the day.
Chris' Comments: The lavendar stipes have me baffled...

Other Mushrooms: Hercium, Oysters, Pholiotas
General Information: My wife and I found maybe 8 of these rather large mushrooms poking out from dry leafs, right on the edge of a creek. I was hoping they were blewits, but they are totally white... stem, gills, cap, everything. Some were a little brown (old) on the cap near the center. Mild taste and smell, the caps break super-easy, and I had a hard time getting a decent print from them (maybe they're spent?). The only thing I could find that was right on is Clitocybe Candida... any thoughts?
Chris' Comments: The wavyness and gill pettern does appear to be clitocybe. Probably a good guess...

General Information: My boyfriend was in the back yard raking leaves yesterday (November 8, 2011) and found what we think are 2 morels. The first one he raked over it & tore it apart & coudn't really tell. He looked over the area & saw another one that he picked. It's very aromic and had kind of a slime to it. Is this a true morel?
Chris' Comments: I wish I could say yes, but it is a fairly common stinkhorn, usually has a small hole in the top and a greenish smelly goo but rains may have washed the goo off... In egg form before they pop up, they are edible...
